Step 1: Create Tool Provider
The first step is to go to External Learning Tools in the Administration panel, then go to the Manage Tool Providers, and then New Tool Provider.
For the Launch Point you should choose https://app.peergrade.io and the Secret should be the secret given to you by Peergrade.
For Tool consumer information you should tick the box "Use custom tool consumer information instead of default" and set the Key to be the one given to you by Peergrade. Set Name to "Peergrade". Set Description to "Peergrade" and Contact Email to "firstname.lastname@example.org".
As you can see in the above screenshot Visibility should be set to "Allow users to use this tool provider".
For Security Settings you should the boxes shown in the screenshot below in order for Peergrade to get the information it needs to provide the Peergrade service:
Here we recommend making the Tool Provider available to Course Offerings in your Org Unit:
Click on Add org Units, check of all units in the list and click Insert.
NOTE: The Tool Provider should at least be set to be available to the same Org Units and Course Offering as the link created in Step 2.
Click on Save and Close.
Step 2: Create External Learning Tool Link
After completing Step 1 – still being on the External Learning Tools page – you should go to the other tab on the page, which is called Manage External Learning Tools Links and create a new link (the New Link-button). Set the Title to be "Peergrade" and URL to https://app.peergrade.io/lti/d2l
For the Description put in "Peergrade provides a simple peer feedback solution to teachers and students". Enable "Allow users to view this link".
The Key/Secret should be Tool consumer key/secret
And Security Settings should be Use tool provider security settings
You do not need to add any Custom Parameters.
To make Peergrade available to teachers immediately be sure to set Peergrade as available to Course Offering in your Org Unit:
NOTE: The Tool Provider should be set to be available to the same Org Units and Course Offering as the link – otherwise the link will not work!
Click "Save and Close".
Teachers should now be able to choose and add Peergrade as an Activity in their Modules through the dropdown menu Add Existing Activities > External Learning Tools.
